June 7 – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle crash in W.Va. Friday morning. 7 (Earl L. Core Road) in the Dellslow area near Homegrown Pizza. The road was closed in both directions for several hours as authorities investigated and cleared the accident scene.

Officials with the Monongalia County 911 center said the crash involved three vehicles, one of which was reported fatal.

After the accident, the police searched for a man who had probably fled the scene of the accident. According to subsequent scanner traffic, a suspect was eventually located on Pixler Hill Road and taken into custody. It is unclear what charges he faces in connection with the wreck and resulting search.

Two vehicles could be seen at the scene of the accident: one appeared to be missing the entire front end, the other was missing both doors on the passenger side.

A Jan-Care ambulance that appeared to have suffered front-end damage was being towed away when The Dominion Post arrived.

Vehicles parked on the property of car dealership Creekside Motors, which shares a building with Homegrown Pizza, were also damaged.

Details about the cause of the fatal crash or the identity of the victim had not been released by West Virginia State Police in time for this report.
