Bend-La Pine Schools will expand free lunch and breakfast services

BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) — Bend-La Pine Schools has announced that all schools in the district will offer free breakfast and free lunch to students every day starting next school year. Parents do not have to fill out anything to gain access to the meal.

The Community Eligible Provision program allowed schools across the state to provide free breakfast and lunch to eligible low-income students with both state and federal funding. Previously, only 22 of the district’s 33 schools were eligible.

Isabella Warren speaks with Bend High’s Nutrition Supervisor and students to learn more about the expansion. Her report tonight on NewsChannel 21 at 5 p.m.
