Driver crashes through airport fences and hits 2 planes

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KCNC) – A driver in a pickup truck rammed the gates of Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport on Monday, hitting two unoccupied planes, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said.

The driver of that truck, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital and was the only person injured, according to the sheriff’s office.

It was not immediately clear whether the crash was criminal or an accident, but the sheriff’s office said in a post on airport this time.”

Photos posted by the sheriff’s office show an entrance gate destroyed and aircraft damaged, as well as a red pickup truck crashing into a guardrail on a nearby road.
