June-like temperatures for the last days of spring

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY-TV) – An air quality warning is in effect until 8 p.m. tonight due to high ozone (smog) levels. It will then apply again from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

Sunny and dry, with temperatures remaining near normal for the last few days of spring, before a new ridge of high pressure arrives later this week to warm our temperatures.

I’m monitoring a tropical disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico, which will bring southeasterly and higher moisture levels later in the week.

No rain is forecast this week, but I’ll keep an eye on it.

The summer solstice takes place on Thursday at 1:50 PM and marks the official start of summer.

Highs will quickly rise to 110 degrees on Friday, with even higher temperatures expected for the weekend.
