For those who haven’t heard the messages yet: And just like that is going to lose a familiar face in season 3 of Karen Pittman. Although Nya Wallace was a big part of the show’s first two seasons, the series will have to continue without her.

How the show will write out the character remains to be seen, but the actress wants to make it clear that she didn’t leave out of a desire to say goodbye to this world. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the busy actress (who also does The Morning Show And Forever amid other projects) explained the difficult decision she had to make:

As for season three, there were very real scheduling conflicts that were added to the mix once I decided that’s what I wanted to do. Forever. And there were some personal things that I don’t want to elaborate on, as far as going back to the show, in my own family life. But I also want to make sure that people don’t think I’m just throwing that character away. I loved working with those people. I could have kept doing it in a perfect world, but we don’t live in that perfect world.

Pittman notes that there is “more story to tell” when it comes to her character in the Max comedy and while that may be up to the writers, it seems there is an openness to her return. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens here! And just like that has been in production for the new season for a while now, and we’ll just have to wait and see when it premieres. (For now, it looks like this will happen in early 2025 – fingers crossed.)
