Dark Matter Season 1 Episode 8

Dark Matter Season 1 Episode 8

Dark Matter Season 1, Episode 8 just dropped on Apple TV+, and things are about to get wilder than a political rally in the Bronx. We’re talking multiple Jasons, car chases, and enough plot twists to make your head spin faster than a Beyblade tournament. Remember how Jason struggled with the weight of his multiverse drama in the last episode? Yeah, well, this episode turns things up a notch (or ten). Apparently, Jason’s little adventure through alternate realities has unleashed an entire army of Jasons on Prime Earth. We’re talking about Jason’s more than a failed family reunion.

Eagle-eyed viewers may have discovered a clue about the Multiverse shenanigans long ago. Remember when Blaire, the other version of Jason’s wife’s friend from Amanda’s world, stayed alone in that lab? The one that never went back in the box? Yes, that Blaire. It turns out that a variant of her is the one who unleashed the whole killer bee apocalypse on that unsuspecting Earth. This was a little hint that things weren’t quite right with the multiverse and how many variations were being created. Dark Matter is playing the long game, dropping breadcrumbs along the way.

Meanwhile, Jason-2 (the not so good one) is still trying to play house with Daniela and Charlie. But let’s just say his acting skills are about as effective as a participation trophy. Daniela eventually figures out that something fishy is going on (and it’s not the tuna casserole), and let me tell you, the escape scene is pure gold. Now Jason Prime (hopefully the real Jason, fingers crossed) is trying to get his life back together with Daniela and Charlie. But with all these doppelgängers running around, it’s like playing a game with your own identity. Daniela, bless her heart, is basically Wonder Woman at this point. She dodges Jason’s left and right, tries to keep Charlie safe, and still manages to look fantastic while doing it. This woman deserves a medal, a vacation on a private island, and all the therapy money in the world.

Dark Matter Season 1 Episode 8The episode’s ending will have you replaying it faster than you can say “multiverse of chaos.” Seriously, Apple TV+, you can’t just drop that bomb and expect us to wait an entire week for answers. That is cruel and unusual punishment.

But wait, there’s more! Did you know that Dark Matter is actually based on a book series by Blake Crouch? The first book, also called Dark Matter, was published in 2016 and quickly became a bestseller. So if you’re in the mood for even more mind-blowing sci-fi goodness, be sure to check out the books. Don’t blame us if you get sucked into your own wormhole and miss next week’s episode.

Rest, and remember: stay awake. You never know when another Jason will be lurking around the corner.
