USA OLYMPIC TRIALS 2024

Two days later we have another swimming competition for a final in which a maximum of six roster spots can be won.

This time, Erika Connolly (nee Brown) and Anna Moesch will battle it out for lane 8 in the women’s 100 freestyle final. Both swimmers clocked 54.09 in semis 1 and 2 respectively. Both of their times represented a drop from their prelims efforts.

We will update this article as we learn more details about the swim-off.

Erika Connolly, US Olympic Trials 1 semifinalist Anna Moesch, US Olympic Trials 2 semifinal
50 26.08 26.28
100 54.09 (28.01) 54.09 (27.81)

Connolly earned an individual Olympic berth in this event in 2021, finishing second Weitzeil Abbey in finals.

Moesch did not initially qualify for Wave 2 or 2021 Trials, but got there through other means. After placing 2nd in the 50 free in Wave 1, she earned herself the opportunity to compete in the event a week later in Wave 2, where she finished 25th overall. She didn’t qualify for any other event and now she has a chance to earn a spot on the Olympic roster.

As a reminder, there are a maximum of six spots available tomorrow night. Provided there are no roster limit issues, four relay swimmers will be brought to Paris in addition to the individual participants from the US.
