Queensland fans slammed for leaving Suncorp Stadium after disappointing State of Origin loss

Queensland fans are in shock at the aftermath of the Maroons’ surprise loss to the NSW Blues in the deciding match of the State of Origin on Wednesday night.

As the match neared its end, Maroons fans began to leave Suncorp Stadium before the final bell sounded.

By the time the presentations started, there were empty chairs everywhere and it was clear to everyone that Queenslanders had left en masse.

This mass departure made the Blues fans, who had stayed to witness their team’s historic victory, clearly audible.

And when Daly Cherry-Evans took the stage to deliver his speech, the full effect of the empty seats became clear.

Despite the match being played on his home turf, the Queensland captain was greeted with cheers and boos.

As always, he spoke with class and thanked his opponents and the fans… but he was clearly surprised.
