FREAKY FRIDAY 2 Starts Filming, Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan Are Back

Freaky Friday 2 is officially underway, with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan returning for more body-swapping fun. The highly anticipated sequel certainly seemed to be gaining traction, but there’s nothing we love more than an official announcement. In addition to Curtis and Lohan, Freaky Friday 2 has gained some great new cast members and is scheduled for release in 2025, which is really, really exciting.

Freaky Friday 2The Plot

In a press release, Disney describes the plot of Freaky Friday 2 as follows:

A sequel to the beloved 2003 film with a multigenerational twist, the film picks up years after Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) experienced an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that arise when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning can indeed strike twice.

Of course, Curtis and Lohan reprise their roles as Tess and Anna Coleman. But other Crazy Friday actors will be back for more fun. These returning original cast members include Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao. But Freaky Friday 2 also see some new faces including Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. We are very excited to hear that Manny Jacinto Freaky Friday 2 officially, especially after his excellent recent performance The Acolyte.

In addition to the images above, we also get a glimpse of Chad Michael Murray’s return as Jake.

Finally, Crazy Friday 2 is directed by Nisha Ganatra.

Freaky Friday 2Release date of ‘s

Production on the Crazy Friday sequel started in June 2024. We should expect Freaky Friday 2 will be released in theaters nationwide in 2025.
