Mumbai: The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has expedited the work process of the Kalyan Ring Road Project, which is to be completed in eight phases. The Rs 2,186 crore project is being undertaken for commuters‘ Hassle-free travel between Dombivli and Titwala. The authorities have completed the work between Phase 4 and Phase 7 (Durgadi Bridge to SH 35-40 Road Junction) and the stretch is open for traffic.

During a recent meeting, Kalyan MP Dr Shrikant Shinde instructed the MMRDA officials to take up the remaining work on a war footing so that the entire 30.3 km stretch is open for people as soon as possible. He also instructed the officials to acquire the land required for the project as soon as possible. The meeting was attended by MMRDA Commissioner Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) Commissioner Dr Indurani Jakhar and other officials who highlighted other issues pertaining to the project, to which Shinde asked them to come to a favourable conclusion.

Kalyan Ring Road project is an ambitious project being implemented to speed up traffic flow in urban and rural areas of Kalyan Lok Sabha constituency. This project has been conceptualized by MP Srikanth Shinde, which will give a new dimension to vehicular movement within the constituency.
