AMU Vice-Chancellor continues hall inspections on day 2 – India Education | Latest Education News | Global Education News

Aligarh : On the second day of her scheduled inspections, Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Prof. Naima Khatoon, visited the Girls’ Sarojini Naidu Hall and Bibi Fatima Hall to assess the progress of the ongoing renovations. The visit is part of an extensive cleaning and renovation campaign that Prof. Khatoon initiated soon after assuming office, coinciding with the summer vacation.

The Vice Chancellor’s initiative is aimed at improving the living conditions of the university’s hostels. After the evacuation of the dormitories, Prof. Khatoon continues her inspections to ensure that tasks are on track for completion before students return. During her visit, she assessed the cleanliness and maintenance of hostel rooms, bathrooms, common areas such as dining halls and reading rooms, and surrounding areas including lawns, sports fields and roofs. She directed the officials concerned to address the problem of waterlogging behind Bibi Fatima Hall and near the athletic field.

Prof. Khatoon expressed satisfaction with the progress and commended the non-teaching staff for their teamwork and dedication to this extensive project, which is essential for providing better living conditions. The Provosts assured her that their teams are committed to creating a welcoming and conducive environment for the students.

The Vice Chancellor stressed the importance of regular cleaning and organization of the corridors throughout the year. He advocated a continuous maintenance cycle with well-defined action plans to ensure that the corridors remain in top condition.

University officials including the Registrar, DSW, Financial Officer, Proctor, Deputy Proctor and MIC of the Department of Construction, Electricity, Land and Gardens, the University Engineer, the University Health Officer and other officials were also present during the inspection.

Later in the day, Prof. Khatoon hosted a consultative meeting with university officials to review the progress of the renovation and discuss preparations for the coming academic year.
