Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: Central Railway to run 202 special trains from September 1 — Check the checklist here

The Central Railway has started running 202 special trains ahead of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Chief Public Relations Officers (CPRO) of Central Railway, Swapnil Dhanraj Nila, said that these special trains will be put into service from September 1 and the bookings for these trains will begin tomorrow, July 21.”

Nila further informed that 18 trips are scheduled from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus to Sawantwadi. This train will depart from CST at 12:30 midnight and will reach Sawantwadi at 12:00 noon on the second day.

There are also 18 trips scheduled between CST and Ratnagiri. “These trains will depart from CST at 11:30 and arrive at Ratnagiri at 20:00 and the return journey will start at Ratnagiri at 04:30 and arrive at CST at 11:30,” he said.

The CPRO said that a special train will run from Diva to Chiplun on special request. The train will depart from Diva at 7:15 am and arrive in Chiplun at 2:00 pm. On the return journey, the train will depart from Chiplun at 3:30 pm. These trains will operate from 1 to 18 September.

There are a few trains that run on specific days, notably the one from Lokmanya Tilak terminus to Udala. These run only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Watch the video below for more information:
