Tennis, ATP – Swiss Open 2024: Halys beats Struff

French qualifier Quentin Halys reached the final of the Swiss Open by beating Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff, ranked number 5, 6-3, 7-6 (2) on Saturday at the Roy Emerson Arena in Gstaad.

Halys, seeded 192nd, will next play the winner of the match between Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas, the top-seeded team, and Italy’s Matteo Berrettini, the sixth-seeded team.

In the previous rounds of the tournament in Gstaad, the Frenchman defeated Richard Gasquet (7-6 (4), 7-6 (5)), Slovakian Lukas Klein (6-3, 6-7 (7), 6-4) and Brazilian qualifier Gustavo Heide (6-1, 7-5).

Earlier in the tournament, Struff, who is ranked 37th, defeated Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas (7-6 (6), 7-6 (4)), Swiss wildcard Leandro Riedi (7-6 (6), 7-6 (1)) and Argentina’s Tomas Martin Etcheverry, ranked No. 4 (7-5, 3-6, 6-3).
