Stranger Things fans express frustration as Netflix releases season 5 update

The latest update on the progress of Strange thingsThe fifth and final season of has received mixed reactions from fans.

Two years ago, Netflix’s hit science fiction series released its fourth season and work is currently underway on the final episodes.

This week the streaming service announced that the upcoming Strange things season five will debut in 2025.

During an earnings call this week, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said next year’s lineup will feature the new Strange thingsalong with a second season of the hit Addams Family adaptation Wednesday.

Strange things features a cast including Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour and Winona Ryder and focuses on the paranormal events in an American city in the 1980s.

Fans took to social media to react to the release date news, with some expressing frustration over the long wait for a fifth season.

“Is anyone still committed to this show? It took them too long to come out LOL,” one person wrote.

“Imagine if it takes nine years to release five seasons,” complained another, while someone else simply asked, “Can’t this show move a little faster?”

“I was expecting this to happen but damn it still is,” one fan wrote.

Some suspect that the long production time is due to the many special effects needed for the new season.

While the majority of stars from previous seasons of Strange things will return for the new episodes. Eduardo Franco, who appeared in season four as Argyle, will not be there.

The character, a pizza delivery man, was introduced as Jonathan’s (Charlie Heaton) best friend after the Byers family moved from Hawkins, Indiana to California.

Despite his character becoming a fan favorite, Strange thingsIn the fourth season of the series, Franco was absent from the cast photo published earlier this year. In an interview, he confirmed that he would not return.

YouTube host Steve Varley asked Franco, “I just want to ask this real quick because it’s on everyone’s mind. You don’t have to answer this, but fans were a little freaked out when they saw the cast photo from day one of Strange things Season Five.

“Now they think you’re not in the season. Can you give us hope that you are? And can you say something if you’re not?”

Franco responded: “It’s nice to hear that there’s some kind of, you know, concern or something, you know what I mean? But I’ve never, I’ve never had a phone call. So yeah, I think that’s it.”

An exact release date for the series has not yet been announced.
