Creamline recovers from PVL opening loss, beats Farm Fresh in 4

Creamline recovered from a narrow first-set loss to defeat Farm Fresh in a thrilling four-set match (24-26, 25-23, 25-21, 25-16) to make a comeback in the 2024 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference on Saturday at the Philsports Arena.

After a heartbreaking five-set defeat on opening day against PLDT last Tuesday, the seasoned Cool Smashers used their vaunted championship experience to fend off the hard-hitting Foxies to secure a 1-1 draw in Pool A.

After losing the opening overtime match, Creamline used an 8-2 finishing kick in the second period to overcome a 17-21 deficit and even the series.

The reigning All-Filipino Conference champions then leaned on American reinforcements Erica Staunton and Michele Gumabao, who teamed up for a thrilling 6-0 run to come back from a late 19-21 deficit to take a 2-1 lead in the set.

Creamline then went on to take a 12-point lead, 19-7, after a block by Risa Sato in the fourth inning to finish off the defeated Farm Fresh.

The Cool Smashers want to build on this victory and will play their match against Nxled on Thursday at 3:00 PM at the same location.

On the other hand, the 0-2 Foxies will try to get into the win column against PLDT on Thursday at 1:00 PM.
