UP: 7 wagons of freight train derail between Ghaziabad-Moradabad route

Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh) (India), July 20 (ANI): At least seven wagons of a freight train derailed between the Ghaziabad and Moradabad section in Uttar Pradesh, railway officials said on Saturday.

According to officials, the goods train derailed at Amroha yard of Moradabad district in UP. The timing of the incident is yet to be ascertained.

The officials said the alternative route between Moradabad-Saharanpur-Meerut-Ghaziabad is open for train operations.

At least three people were killed and around 30 injured when the Chandigarh-Dibrugarh light rail derailed near Gonda station, between Motiganj and Jhilahi railway stations, which fall under the jurisdiction of the North Eastern Railway, on July 18.

Officials said 4-5 coaches at the front of the Dibrugarh Express derailed. Opposition leaders launched a scathing attack on the central government while highlighting the deaths of 11 people in the collision of a goods train with the Sealdah-Agartala Kanchanjunga Express.
