Division 3A Summary

Forkhill earned promotion to Division 2B and won the Division 3A league title with a win over Collegeland. Darren King and Daire McGeough both scored in their six-point win, 2-11 to 1-8.

The teams were evenly matched early on, until King’s goal put the visiting side 1-5 to 0-4 ahead at half-time. Forkhill struck a second big blow early in the second half to open up an eight-point lead.

A Collegeland goal midway through the second half, scored from a penalty by Stefan McKenna, reduced the margin, but Forkhill pushed on in the final quarter to extend their lead to 11e win in a row.

Ballyhegan took the second promotion spot in the league table, although the championship winners will secure that spot. They finished second in the league despite losing to Middletown on Friday night.

The five-point win, 0-17 to 0-12, saw Middletown claim third place in the Division 3A standings. Three was the difference at halftime, with Middletown ahead before pulling ahead on the turnaround.

St Michael’s finished bottom as they suffered a 1-16 to 0-10 defeat to Eire Og, with Ciaran Corey the icing on the cake. Lissummon were also relegated despite beating An Port Mor 1-15 to 0-12.

Division 3B Summary

Clady claimed the Division 3B2 league title on Friday night after their 2-8 to 1-11 tie with Killeavy IIs. Clady finished top of the league with 14 points after winning six of their 12 games this year.

Goals from Sean Savage and Liam Doyle were the main scores for Clady, who were away. Killean finished bottom of the league after losing two games this week, against Madden IIs (1-17 to 1-1) and Mullabrack (6-12 to 1-9).

Forkhill were promoted to Division 2B and won the Division 3A league title with a win over Collegeland.
