The third round of the Open Championship was a moving day at Royal Troon. After 80 players made the cut on Friday, some found themselves in or out of contention for Sunday’s final round.

Rain played a bigger role on Saturday. In addition, the wind picked up as the day progressed, challenging the field. As a result, a handful of holes on the front nine were easier to play compared to the first two days, as the greens were softer.

The course was still challenging though, as the par-4 11e played 0.66 strokes over. There were only two birdies on the 11e hole compared to 39 bogeys or worse. With Round 3 now complete, we look at the 10 biggest winners and losers from Saturday’s action at the Open Championship.
