Riley Herbst Makes Turn Four Pass to Win at Indy, Xfinity Results

Riley Herbst earned his second straight win for Stewart-Haas Racing, taking victory on the Xfinity Series’ return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval.

Cole Custer started the day on pole position, but the race only made it a lap before cautions were called when Sam Mayer made contact with AJ Allmendinger, damaging multiple cars.

Herbst would win the first stage, but after pit stops Brandon Jones would find his way to the front. Ryan Sieg would win the second stage after choosing to stay on old tires while others pitted.

Aric Almirola would take over the lead after Sieg himself pitted after the break, but after falling back on the restart he would go around and bring out a caution. Parker Retzlaff would later get behind Anthony Alfredo, ending the day for both of them and Josh Williams.

Custer would lead for much of the final laps, but Herbst was able to pass him, but Almirola passed them both. A lap later Herbst would pass Almirola again to take the win.
