A police investigation is underway following a suspected shooting in southwest Miami-Dade County.

The barrage of gunfire was heard shortly before 3 a.m. near 21630 SW 120th Avenue in the Goulds neighborhood.

Miami-Dade County police have not yet released any details about the shooting, including information about possible victims, suspects or motives.

Several pieces of evidence were seen at the crime scene.

Johniesha Joloy said she woke up in fear as bullets shattered her window as she slept with her 1-year-old daughter.

“If my bed had been closer to the window, it would have been my child and me,” she said. “Our lives would have been over then and there. It’s a madhouse here.”

She said she started to duck, hide and cover her baby.

“I had to hold my baby really, really hard because it was crazy,” Joloy said. “There was a lot of glass all over the room. All over my clothes… my stepfather just found a fragment in my baby’s clothes.”

NBC6 is trying to learn more about this developing story.
