Tim Cahill’s son Shae makes career move after Brisbane Roar departure

English Premier League club Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Shae Cahill, the son of former Everton and Socceroos legend Tim Cahill.

The 19-year-old midfielder recently played for Brisbane Roar in the A-League Men and will initially join Forest’s B team.

“I am so happy and excited to start this next chapter with Nottingham Forest and would like to thank everyone at the club and my family for their support,” he told the English Premier League club’s website.

“My goal is to train hard and work hard to get the best out of myself so that both my family and the football club are proud.”

Head of Academy Chris McGuane added: “We are delighted to welcome Shae to Nottingham Forest and look forward to seeing how he integrates into the B-team group.

“Shae has first-team experience in Australia and joins the club with the ambition to improve as a player.”

Liverpool-born Cahill joined Everton at the age of 11 and played for the under-18s. He was released last year and left for Australia to sign for Brisbane Roar.

He played eight games and scored once, but left Brisbane by mutual consent last month.
