Sub-jr Men North Zone Hockey: Chandigarh holds Uttarakhand to 1-1 draw

Hockey Chandigarh played out a 1-1 draw against Hockey Uttarakhand in the men’s division on day 6 of the 2nd Hockey India Sub Junior Men North Zone Championship 2024 at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium on Saturday.

In the first quarter, both teams started fast. Hockey Chandigarh attacked aggressively to take the lead but at the end of the first 15-minute period, the score was still 0-0 as both teams put up strong defensive performances.

Hockey Chandigarh continued the momentum and ended the second quarter on a high note. The approach resulted in Chandigarh taking a 1-0 lead through Anmolpreet Singh (16′) after he found the net and scored an excellent field goal. At half time, Hockey Chandigarh led 1-0 against Hockey Uttarakhand.

In the third quarter, Hockey Uttarakhand started the match aggressively. They earned a penalty corner early and got back into the game through Nitin Bohra (36′) when he found the net. At the end of the third quarter, the score was level, 1-1.

At the start of the fourth quarter, both teams came out of the blocks with full force and raised the stakes of the match. However, with the defense of the teams standing strong, the match ended in an entertaining 1-1 draw. (Agency)
