Ryan Reynolds is all set for the release of his upcoming film Deadpool and Wolverine. The actor has been busy promoting the film alongside co-star Hugh Jackman. Ryan recently joked that he was “sued” by singer Taylor Swift for his previous role in the Deadpool franchise, because he used her cats in the film. The Deadpool actor is very close to Swift and attended her concert a few months ago.

Ryan Jokes About Being ‘Sued’ By Taylor Swift

Ryan was in an interview with SiriusXM’s Town Hall where he said that there is no bad blood between him and Taylor Swift after he used photos of her cat in Deadpool 2. Swift’s cats, Meredith and Olivia’s photos were used on a T-shirt worn by Wade, Ryan’s character in the Deadpool sequel. He said, “Yeah, I had a T-shirt made. Yeah, of (Swift’s cats) Meredith and Olivia on Wade’s shirt. Yeah, you know, just little details, that’s all,” as reported by People Magazine.

When the radio jockey asked if Ryan needed Swift’s permission to use photos of her cats in the film, he dryly replied, “No, I got sued. I lost everything in that movie.”

“And being sued by a friend is hard to swallow. And she just has a lot of really, really powerful lawyers. I found out later that’s just the paralegals. The real lawyers didn’t even bother,” he joked.

Regarding wearing that particular T-shirt without Swift’s permission, he said, “I would never do something like that.”

Ryan and his wife, Blake Lively, share a close friendship with the American singer and songwriter. The 47-year-old actor, along with his wife and their three daughters, Betty, Inez and James, attended Swift’s concert in Madrid in May. In a clip shared by a fan account, the couple were seen kissing, and Blake was later seen dancing with her daughters to the Lover singer’s beats.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ryan debunked the rumors about Swift starring in his upcoming film. However, in a 2022 interview, he said, “Are you kidding? I would do anything for that woman. She’s a genius.” He also told the media how everyone in his family is obsessed with the 34-year-old singer. “Oh my God, yeah. All of us, the whole house, I’m not kidding. I think it’s so amazing. Me, Blake, my daughters. We think it’s amazing. Obsessed.”
