Cross Tag Battle, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, Shenmue 2 and more

New videos have surfaced online of the latest videos from the PlayStation 4 emulator, shadPS4. These videos show how the PS4 emulator boots up Dark Souls Remastered and Resident Evil 4. In addition, the emulator can already run a number of games, including a few 3D games. Let’s take a look at them.

For those who don’t know, shadPS4 is a PlayStation 4 emulator that seems to be in the most advanced state. At least for now. The emulator can already boot Red Dead Redemption Remastered and Bloodborne. And now it looks like it can boot Dark Souls Remastered and Resident Evil 4 as well.

While this may seem like a “nothing burger“For many PC users, this is big news for the PS4 emulation scene. I still don’t expect this emulator to run Bloodborne smoothly in 2024 (or even 2025). Still, I’m intrigued by the progress.

As mentioned, shadPS4 can already run a few games. For example, it can run BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle at almost full speed. Capcom Fighting Collection also seems to be fully playable. Then we have Blazing Chrome, which can run at an acceptable speed. It still doesn’t run at 60fps and has several graphical glitches. Still, it is playable.

shadPS4 can also run Tomb Raider I-III Remastered. However, these Tomb Raider games run very slowly. Not only that, there are also major graphical issues with it. Still, the fact that the emulator can run a PS4 game that came out in 2024 is incredible.

Finally, Broken Sword 5 is another game that will run on the shadPS4. Since it is an adventure game, it seems playable (even if it is not running at full speed). However, like the other games, it suffers from some graphical issues.

Overall I am impressed with the current state of shadPS4. If you want to give it a try you can download the latest version from this link.

Have fun and stay tuned for more!
