ICTFC 3-0 Bonnyrigg Rose | 20.07.2024

Caley Thistle secured a 3-0 victory in their first match at the Caledonian Stadium this season thanks to first-half goals from Adam Brooks, Keith Bray and Luis Longstaff.

Caley Thistle started strongly and took the lead after just nine minutes. Calum MacLeod found Matthew Strachan on the left and his cross was delivered into the middle by Adam Brooks, who fired the ball past Bonnyrigg keeper Tom Ritchie.

The pressure on Bonnyrigg continued and Caley Thistle scored the second goal after just 17 minutes. Another good move as Calum MacLeod found Billy Mckay and a pass from the striker found Keith Bray in the penalty area. Bray shook off his man and fired low into the net.

Bonnyrigg keeper Tom Ritchie had to make a great save to push an effort from Adam Brooks onto the post, while the striker met Matthew Strachan’s ball in the penalty area.

Caley Thistle scored the third goal before half-time through Luis Longstaff, who picked up a pass from Billy Mckay in the penalty area and fired the ball low into the net via the left post.

The second half was less exciting, with Charlie Gilmour’s shot from distance going over the bar and behind the goal.

In the closing stages, Bradley Rodden saw his shot go wide of Jack Newman’s post.

Caley Thistle play their third Premier Sports Cup group stage match against Arbroath on Tuesday.
