Team India secured 201/5 against UAE, which is also now the highest result achieved by any team in the history of the Women’s Asia Cup.

The Indian women’s team played their first ever T20 international match in 2006 and after 18 long years, the Women in Blue have amassed their first 200-plus total in the format. It came in the ongoing Women’s Asia Cup in Sri Lanka, where Richa Ghosh’s breathtaking innings of 64* off just 29 balls helped the team to amass 201/5 in 20 overs.

After a blazing start from Shafali Verma, Harmanpreet Kaur was the anchor of the innings, keeping one wicket intact and building a crucial partnership with Jemimah Rodrigues. After Jemimah was dismissed, Richa Ghosh came on, who was simply brilliant. She took a huge toll on the opposition, hitting them from all parts of the pitch, accumulating runs at a tremendous strike rate of over 220.
