Saturday shooting in northeast leaves 1 woman dead

An investigation is underway into a suspicious death that occurred early Saturday evening in the northeastern community of Vista Heights.

Saturday evening at around 6:00 p.m., police received reports of a man and a woman who arrived at Foothills Medical Centre suffering from suspected gunshot wounds.

The woman was pronounced dead on arrival, while the injured man is in serious condition.

Police believe the shooting occurred as the victims were driving westbound across the 32nd Avenue NE overpass near Deerfoot Trail earlier Saturday.
