Russian NHL Stars vs. KHL Stars: It Ended in a Tie

While the National Hockey League off-season is in full swing and we are currently going through the most boring weeks of the off-season, the Russian players are having a great time.

Yesterday in Russia there was a very interesting match to watch, when the Russian NHL All-Stars took on the Russian KHL All-Stars.
The competition was hosted by the KHL and featured some big names including Alex Ovechkin, Artemi Panarin and Ilya Kovalchuk.

Montreal Canadiens prospect Bogdan Konyushkov also took part in the game.

In short, it was a match to keep an eye on and in the end we got to see quite a spectacle.
The match ended in an 8-8 draw, with a wonderful duel between the goalkeepers. #Sarcasm

The match was played in front of a full house, the CSKA Arena in Moscow was packed to the rafters.

The 8-8 score may seem surprising considering the Russian NHL stars should clearly be better than those from the KHL, but let’s not forget that this is ultimately a charity game.

The players were there to put on a show and Artemi Panarin understood that.

He tried to score a “Michigan goal” while breaking in front of the keeper, and almost succeeded.

Panarin enjoyed this match immensely and scored several points together with Evgeni Malkin and Alex Ovechkin.

In short, this contest was a great idea, turned out to be a huge success and produced a great show.

Let’s see if this event will be organized again next year and if other competitions will take the initiative to organize something similar.

It could also be interesting to see the Finnish stars of the NHL battle it out against those of the Liiga, or the Swedish stars of the NHL battle it out against those of the SHL.

After a while

– Indeed.

– This is pretty sad.

– A first podium finish for Oscar Piastri!

– A very nice gesture from Lando Norris.

– It wasn’t Max Vertsappen’s day.
