Fatal shooting in West Philadelphia: Suspects shoot 9 people, kill 3 at party in Pennsylvania

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania — Police are investigating a mass shooting that took place in West Philadelphia.

Nine people were shot, three of whom died.

It happened just after 2 a.m. Sunday in the 1200 block of North Alden Street. Authorities say it all stemmed from a fight.

Police suspect that more than 100 people were present when the shots rang out.

Sister station 6abc was told that all the victims were adults in their 20s and 30s.

Detectives are now looking for the suspects involved.

“It appears there were multiple shooters, but it is unclear at this time how many. We have counted at least 25 to 30 spent casings at this time,” said Detective Inspector DF Pace.

“We’re not sure if it was a neighborhood party or just a group of people invited from other parts of the city. That’s not clear at this point.”

According to police, the surviving victims’ injuries range from stable to serious.

Although a weapon was found, no suspects have yet been arrested.
