Monday blackout affects 5 provinces

Kenya Power has announced that there will be partial power outages in five counties on Monday, July 22, 2024.

Affected areas include Bomet, Trans Nzoia, Kisii, Nyamira and Nyeri.

Kenya Power said in a statement that the power outage was due to planned maintenance.

“These areas will experience planned power outages tomorrow (Monday, July 22, 2024),” Kenya Power said.

In Bomet, the power outage will last from 09:00 to 16:00, affecting areas such as Kiromwok Bondet, Kitoben, Kapkesiego, Suswondo, Bukacha, Belgut, Mononwet, Menet, Bilelga, Tumoiyot and surrounding areas.

In Trans Nzoia, the outage will be felt from 9am to 5pm in Kaplamai, Nyakinywa, Kipsingori, Kimoson, Kaplamai, Kapchepsir, Moi High School, Kaplamai, Botwa, Karara, Bata Muhuyu and adjacent customers.

In Kisii, the power outage will affect areas such as Igonga, Mogumo and surrounding towns from 9am to 4pm.

In Nyamira, the outage affects Sanganyi, Kebirigo, Makairo, Sironga, Konate, Miruka, Nyamira Town and neighboring customers between 9am and 4pm.

In Nyeri, the power outage will last from 8am to 5pm. The following customers are affected: Chorongi, Kwa Ndegwa, St Jude, Kagayu, Thunguma, Meeting Point, Ruringu, Oilcom, Triton and surrounding towns.
