West Virginia Senator Wants to Re-Register as a Democrat

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) – Sen. Joe Manchin (I-WV) wants to reach more voters and is considering re-registering as a Democrat.

Senator Manchin registered as an Independent in May and issued a statement saying, “Our national politics is broken and neither side is willing to compromise to find common ground.”

After President Joe Biden withdrew from the race for the White House, Manchin is considering re-registering as a Democrat to secure the Democratic nomination.

Manchin previously joined a growing list of people calling for the president to resign. He has also called for an open process to replace Biden on the Democratic presidential ticket.
