Top 256 character stats for Street Fighter 6 at Evo 2024, with Akuma, M. Bison and Ed putting up big numbers

While none of the DLC characters came out on top overall

Evo 2024 was the biggest fighting game event (and open esports tournament in general) ever this weekend, and there’s only one fitting way to wrap up the action.

With over 5,200 competitors registered for Street Fighter 6 alone, we’ve gathered the full character stats for the biggest tournament of them all.

We started with the top 32, which ultimately had 13 of the 23 characters in the game selected as main options in the upper bracket. That was a bit top-heavy.

Ken proved to be the most popular choice of the finalists, followed closely by Ed and M. Bison, with almost half of the players choosing at least one of them.

This left AKI, Dhalsim, E. Honda, Guile, Jamie, Lily, Marisa, Ryu and Zangief on the sidelines, while Manon was used as at least second.

The top 8 consisted of Ed, Rashid, Cammy, M. Bison, Dee Jay and Ken, with the boxer and the fiery Shoto both making more than one appearance.

If we go back a few steps and look at the top 96, we see that Ken’s top spot was taken by the newest Shoto, with Akuma taking 10th place.

This means that just over 10 percent of players were using the final DLC character from Season 1, and his surrounding additions were also hot on his heels with 9 each – that means almost 30 percent were using one of them.

Luke, Blanka, JP, Guile and Marisa also got a boost from the extra competition, although not everyone made it this far.

There were two more characters who had not been seen at all in the tournament so far: Dhalsim and Ryu.

If we go all the way to the top 256, we see that Ken was ultimately the most popular, with 22 players in his main league. But surprisingly, JP almost overtook him when he rose from 5th to 20th with the extra placements.

Akuma also took first place, followed by M. Bison and Ed, while Chun-Li, Kimberly, AKI, Honda, Zangief and Dhalsim also made significant leaps, with a total of 14 characters reaching double digits.

All the world champions have competed in this major event so far, but Ryu still found himself at the bottom with only two competitors in the lead, followed by Jamie and Manon.

With a whopping 5,279 participants registered for SF6 at Evo this year alone, the top 256 here represent only the top 4.8% of all participants registered.
