6 dead, 83 injured after Israeli airstrikes on Yemeni port

Sana:The death toll from Israeli airstrikes on Yemen’s Houthi-held port city of Hodeidah has risen to six, while 83 others were wounded and three were missing, Houthis-controlled media reported, citing a statement from health authorities.

The attacks took place on Saturday night and destroyed fuel storage facilities and a power plant, Xinhua news agency reported on Sunday.

The bombing caused a huge fire that has been going on for almost 20 hours.

The Israeli airstrikes came a day after the Houthis claimed responsibility for an explosive drone attack in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv that killed one person and wounded 10 others, Israeli media reported.

After the Israeli attacks, the Houthis vowed to carry out retaliatory attacks.

Last November, the Houthis began launching ballistic missile and drone attacks on Israeli-linked vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, claiming the attacks were in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
