3 Hezbollah fighters killed in Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon

Beirut: Three Hezbollah members have been killed in Israeli airstrikes on several areas in southern Lebanon, Lebanese military sources told media.

The sources, who requested anonymity, said on Sunday that an Israeli warplane fired two air-to-ground missiles at a house in the southeastern village of Houla, killing two Hezbollah members and wounding one, Xinhua news agency reported.

According to sources, a third Hezbollah member was killed in an attack on a Hezbollah ammunition depot in the town of Adloun. An official medical source said the attack also wounded six civilians and destroyed nine homes.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese army detected several drones and dozens of missiles fired from the Lebanese side toward northern Israel.

Hezbollah said it struck several Israeli sites, including “the Dafna colony,” which was first attacked with Katyusha rockets.

Also attacked were the Ruwaisa Al-Alam, Al-Samaqa and Ramtha locations in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms.

Tensions along the Lebanon-Israel border rose on October 8, 2023, after Hezbollah fired a barrage of rockets into Israel in solidarity with Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel.

Israel then responded by firing heavy artillery into southeastern Lebanon.
