Sasol coal exports up 5% despite production decline

A production update from the world’s largest producer of fuels and chemicals from coal and gas showed the company exported 2.1 million tonnes of coal in the financial year, up from 2 million tonnes previously.

However, the company reported a 2% decline in coal production, from 30.8 million tonnes a year earlier to 30.2 million tonnes, mainly due to a reduction in mining activities.
