Official Citroën Basalt SUV Coupé teaser out now, debuting on August 2

French carmaker Citroën is all set to add a new product to its fleet in India. It will be known as Basalt. The company has already released an official teaser, which gives a glimpse of its interior and exterior.

The upcoming offering will sport a coupe-like design. The model will officially drop the curtain on August 2, 2024. Interested customers may be able to pre-order the vehicle on the same date. However, the brand has not shared any details about it yet.

Judging from the small teaser shared on social media, the vehicle looks quite aggressive from the outside, but there are also some striking details on the inside.

Exterior

Talking about the exteriors first, it gets a signature headlamp setup, paired with C3 Aircross inspired sleek DRLs. The vehicle gets a chrome logo of the company at the front, which somehow gives a similar vibe as the C3 Aircross.

The four-wheeler has been given angular wheel arches. It also gets a coupe-like roofline, which makes it look more attractive in its segment.

Interior

Jumping into the cabin, the teaser reveals that the coupe will feature a floating touchscreen infotainment system on board, likely supporting all the car’s wireless connectivity technology. For the rear passengers, the company has added a headrest with an armrest featuring two cup holders and a phone holder.

Under the hood, the Basalt SUV coupe will feature a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The unit will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission as well as an automatic gearbox. Once the model arrives in the Indian market, it will compete with the upcoming Tata Curvv that is expected to launch in August this year.
