Japanese flag carrier Japan Airlines has announced that it has ordered ten 787-9 Dreamliners from Boeing, with options for ten more.

Japan Airlines currently operates 45 Boeing 787 aircraft, 23 of which are the smallest -8 variant and 22 of the mid-size -9 variant. Yuki Nakagawa, Executive Officer and Senior Vice President of Procurement at Japan Airlines, said deliveries are expected to take place between 2028 and 2031.

He also took a moment to note that Japan Airlines is committed to maintaining its “long and enduring relationship” with Boeing, even during “challenging times.”
