Troy Tiger Sharks Qualify for State Swim Meet

On Saturday, July 13, the Troy Tiger Sharks Swim Team traveled to Dothan for the District VI Swim Meet.

The Tiger Sharks finished in 3rd placerd overall in the district and qualified 22 swimmers in a combined total of 37 individual entries and 7 relays for the State Swimming Championships to be held July 26 in Opelika, Alabamae-27e.

The individual results can be found below.

Gwyn Parker competed in the girls 9-10 division and earned her spot at state by finishing 2ndnd in the 100 medley, 4e in the 50 breaststroke, 1st in the girls 9-10 200 medley relay, and 1st in the girls 9-10 200 freestyle relay. Breaststroke

Kolbi Parker competed in the 11-12 year old girls division and earned her spot at state by finishing 4the in the 50 breast, 4e in the mixed 11-12 200 meter freestyle relay, and 3rd in the mixed 11-12 200 meter medley relay.

Piper Pennington competed in the 11-12 year old girls division and secured a spot at state by finishing 2ndnd and achieving the state qualifying time for the 50m freestyle, 3rd in the 50 butterfly, 3rd in the 50 breaststroke, 4the in the mixed 11-12 200 meter freestyle relay, and 3rd in the mixed 11-12 200 meter medley relay.

Blakeley Smith competed in the girls 9-10 division and earned her spot at state by placing 1st in the 9-10 girls 200 meter medley relay, 2nd in the 50 breaststroke, 4e in the 100 meter freestyle, 1st in the 50 butterfly, and 1st in the 200 meter freestyle relay for girls (9-10 years).

Katherine Rainey competed in the girls 9-10 division and earned her spot at state by placing 1st in the 9-10 girls 200 meter medley relay, 3rd in the 50 meter freestyle, 3rd in the 100 meter freestyle, 2nd in the 50 backstroke, and 1st in the 200 meter freestyle relay for girls (9-10 years).

Baylor Smith competed in the 8 and under girls in all of her individual events and swam up an age category in her relays. She placed 3rd in the 8 and under 25 butterfly, 1st in the 9-10 girls 200 medley relay and 1st in the 200 meter freestyle relay for girls (9-10 years).

Charlee Smith competed in the girls 8 and under division and secured a spot at state by finishing 4the in the 100 meter medley relay, achieved the state qualifying time in the 25 meter freestyle, came 2ndnd in the 25 breaststroke, achieved the state qualifying time in the 25 backstroke and came 3rdrd in the 100 meter freestyle relay for girls up to and including 8 years old.

Oliver Parker competed in the boys 8 and under class and earned his spot at state by placing 1st and achieve the state qualifying time in the 25 freestyle and finish 3rdrd in the 25 butterfly.

Adyn Norris competed in the 15-18 year old girls division and earned her spot at state by finishing 3rdrd in the mixed 15-18 200 freestyle relay, 4e in the 50 butterfly and 3rd in the 50 meter backstroke.

Baylor Pennington competed in the 13-14 boys division in his individual events and one relay. He also swam in the 15-18 age division in another relay. He secured his spot at state by hitting the qualifying time and placing 1st in the 100 meter medley, meet the qualifying time and finish in 1st placest in the 50m freestyle, and meet the qualifying time and finish in 1st placest in the 100 meter freestyle. He also became 1st in the

13-14 individual medley relay and placed 3rd in the 15-18 freestyle relay.

Jesse Swindall competed in the 13-14 boys division in his individual events and one relay, while also moving up an age category in the 15-18 division for a second relay. Jesse secured his spot at state by placing 3rd in the 100 meter medley, 4e in the 50 meter freestyle, 2nd in the 50 breaststroke, 3rd in 15-18 mixed medley relay, and 1st in the 200 meter freestyle relay (13-14 years).

Brea Swindall competed in the 13-14 girls division in her individual events and one relay, while also moving up an age category to swim a second relay. She earned her spot for state by placing 3rd in the 50 breaststroke, 1st in the 200 meter medley relay 13-14, and 3rd in the 200 meter freestyle relay (15-18 years).

Alyssa Forehand competed in the 13-14 year old girls division and earned her spot in the state by finishing 3rdrd in the 100 meter freestyle, 1st in the 50 butterfly, 3rd in the 50 backstroke, and 1st in the mixed 13-14 200 meter medley relay.

Ryan Swindall competed in the 11-12 year old boys division and earned his spot for state by finishing 2ndnd in the 50 meter freestyle, 2nd in the 100 meter freestyle, 4e in the 50 backstroke, 4e in the mixed 11-12 200 freestyle relay, 4th in the 11-12 200 freestyle relay, and 3rd in the 200 meter medley relay 11-12.

Shelton Herndon competed in the 11-12 year old boys division and secured a spot at state by finishing 2ndnd in the 50 butterfly and place 4e in the 200 meter freestyle relay (11-12).

Jax Horn competed in the 9-10 boys division and swam up an age group in two relays, securing his spot at state by placing 4e in the 50 breaststroke, 2nd in the 100 meter freestyle, 3rd in the 11-12 mixed 200m freestyle relay, and 3rd in the mixed 200 meter medley relay.

Savannah Rainey competed in the girls 8 and under division and earned her spot at state by finishing 4the in the 25 butterfly and 4e in the medley relay under 8 meters.

Emma Estes competed in the 8 and under girls category and earned her spot at state by finishing 4the in the medley relay under 8 meters.

Breena Martin competed in the 8 and under girls category and earned her spot at state by finishing 3rdrd in the 8 and under 100 meter freestyle relay.

Hadley Felch competed in the girls under 8 class and earned her spot at state by finishing 3rdrd in the 8 and under 100 meter freestyle relay.

Elias Meadows competed in the 11-12 year old boys division and earned her spot at state by finishing 4the in the 8 and under 200 meter freestyle relay.

Rosalyn Parker competed in the 8 and under division and earned her spot at state by finishing 3rdrd in the 8 and under 100 meter freestyle relay, with a 4th placee in the 8 and under 100 meter medley relay, 2nd in the 25 butterfly and 3rd in the 100 meter freestyle.

The Tiger Sharks will be coached this summer by Fairby Caldwell, Jessica Wolfe, Tori Hinson, Hailee Kokoszkam, Madison Phillips and Samantha Wilson.
