Bear hit and killed by 3 cars on Route 8 in Torrington

TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — No injuries were reported after Connecticut State Police troopers reported a bear was hit by three separate cars on Route 8.

Officers were dispatched to the scene of the crash near Exit 45 on Route 8 in Torrington just before 9 p.m.

Investigation revealed that three cars had hit a bear on the road.

When officers arrived, the bear was already dead and the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection was notified.

At least one vehicle had to be towed, officials said.
