Excavator gets stuck under bridge in downtown Calgary, road closed

A road in downtown Calgary was closed Monday morning after an excavator became stuck under a bridge.

Calgary police tell CityNews that the device was being transported on the back of a truck at the intersection of 1 Street and 9 Avenue SW when it struck the railway bridge.

First Street SW, under the bridge, is closed northbound as emergency crews work to clear the scene.

No one was hurt.
