Former interim Selma fire chief arrested on Friday

Former interim Selma Fire Chief Franklin Edwards was arrested Friday and charged with first-degree theft of property, the Alabama State Fire Marshal Office said.

Edwards was arrested by Alabama State Fire Marshal’s deputies, with assistance from the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.

Edwards will be held in the Perry County Detention Center pending a bail hearing.
