Season 5 definitely feels bigger.” Finn Wolfhard shares that he’s especially excited to film scenes “with the original four” — Will (Noah Schnapp), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) and Mike (Wolfhard) — now that Will has returned to Hawkins at the end of Season 4. What is the name of the first episode of Strange things Season 5?

On Stranger Things Day 2022, we learned the title of the season 5 premiere episode: “The Crawl.” And we hope you theorized with us about what it could mean: What is the Crawl? Who crawls? Why do they crawl? Where do they crawl to?

The Strange things writers began work on season 5 on August 2, 2022Almost exactly a month after Season 4, Volume 2 debuted. Since then, they’ve graced fans with repeated updates on the writing process for Season 5, from the very beginning of their grid phase from writing each episode (August 25, 2022) to complete that grid (September 20, 2022).

Are there any new cast members in Strange things Season 5?

Yep! Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly and Alex Breaux are joining the cast of Strange things Season 5. And Linda Hamilton (The Terminator, Children of the corn, Claw) announced she would be joining the final season during Tudum: A Global Fan Event in 2023. As for details on her role — well, that’s about as much of a mystery as Upside Down. But we do know she’s a huge fan of the show. “I don’t know how to be a fangirl and an actress at the same time,” she said during her Tudum announcement video. “I’m going to work on that.”

What’s Strange things Season 5 approximately?

Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer previously told Tudum that in Season 1, they wrote a 25-page mythology document for Netflix that delves into the mythology and lore of the Upside Down. “We were like, ‘We know what happens in the Upside Down, more or less, but we want it to be unknowable. We want it to be mysterious,'” Matt Duffer explained. “But they were like, ‘Yeah, but can you write it down?’ And so we wrote it all down.”

While audiences learned quite a bit about the Upside Down in Season 4, there’s certainly more to come in Season 5. “The last remaining questions that are answered in that document, we’ve held off on answering some of those questions in order to make some big revelations in Season 5,” Ross Duffer said during Geeked Week in June 2022. “And that’s really going to impact what Season 5 is about.”

To be continued, it seems that…

And while you wait for the show to return, we recommend taking a trip to London to see the Stranger Things: The First Shadow playing on the West End? The original stage production premiered at the Phoenix Theatre on December 14, 2023. Read everything a geek needs to know about this new dimension of the Strange things universe here.
