Travis Bazzana made his debut for the Captains on July 26 at Great Lakes, where he won 1-0.

Bazzana started, played second base and went 0-for-3 with an RBI, which proved decisive. He was replaced by a pinch-hitter in the eighth inning.

The Guardians’ No. 1 overall draft pick in the Major League Baseball draft out of Oregon State struck out in his first at-bat. He reached on a fielder’s choice in the third, on which Jorge Burgos scored what would prove to be the game’s lone run. He struck out on his third trip to the plate in the sixth.

Dylan DeLucia and three relievers combined for a six-hitter. DeLucia, also making his Lake County debut, threw 3 1/3 shutout and hitless innings. He walked four and struck out four.

Zach Jacobs (5-3) earned the win with 3 2/3 shutout innings of relief, surrendering four hits, walking one hit and striking out four.

Zane Morehouse got the final three outs for his seventh save.

The series continues on July 27 at 7:05 p.m. ET on Dow Diamond.
