Section of SH2 near Ōpōtiki closed after crash involving 2 motorcycles

A section of State Highway 2 near Ōpōtiki has been closed after a crash involving two motorcycles resulted in serious injuries.

Police were called to the accident in Waiotahe at around 1pm.

“Initial indications indicate that there have been serious injuries,” said a police spokesperson.

The Serious Accident Unit has been notified and the road between Dunlop Road and Woodlands Road has been closed.
